At American Physicians Network, S.A.S. we have several levels of services offered, depending on both your budget and comfort level.
These range from Do-It-Yourself options for experienced, independent travelers with good mastery of the local language up to a complete concierge package which includes a translator as well as a medical escort.
Current levels of service:
Escorted Group Trips
We are new organization, and while we iron out small details like facilitating easier payments, and decreased waiting times, we are offering a special 50% DISCOUNT on escorted tours. Currently escorted trip options are limited to our South American site and are scheduled to occur several times a year. In the future, these services will be offered at all of our hospital sites worldwide.
Escorted group trip: Travel with a group of clients and family. Maximum number of primary patients (patients needing surgery or other extensive treatments) is 4.
Additional number of executive physical patients: 4.
We keep our escorted trip small to ensure that all clients receive personalized service and attention.
In our group trip, you with be joined by fellow medical travelers and their families. All group trips are currently escorted by the executive director (Kristin Eckland, ACNP-BC), the director of operations (Diana Patino) and our affiliated staff.
Price: This trip costs 125.00 for initial consultation fee, 10% of total surgery price, and $1,500 USD for the escorted services during your time overseas.
Additional services can be added on for an additional fee that is paid directly to the service provider (hotel, dental clinic etc.). These services include:
–Hotel / Accommodations: we have a preferred hotel that is modest and cozy. The staff consistently provides provides excellent customer service, and demonstrates caring and compassion to all of our guests. The hotel is working to coordinate services with APN to help facilitate better care. The staff are in the process of obtaining CPR and First Aid certifications to assist in possible medical emergencies. This hotel also provides clients of APN with a special discounted rate. However, if desired, clients may request upgraded accommodations that are priced at the local or negotiated rate.
For clients that may have to stay for an extended period, we have a very limited number of local apartments available.
– Private companions/ and private nursing services: Rate is usually between 15 – 40 dollars an hour, is set by the individual provider and depends on exchange rate. Skilled RN services are the most expensive versus bilingual companion services. Companions and private duty nursing fees are paid directly to the staff in local currency.
–Specialized tours with local tour companies: we work with several local companies who provide local tours to locations within the city and nearby outside areas (museums, city tours, special areas of interest).
–Add on medical services:
– executive physicals
-specialized medical testing (MRI, PetCT etc) as needed to diagnose, define or treat the primary condition.
-or other treatments unrelated to the primary surgery/ treatment.
As part of our escorted tours, we plan a variety of events, and activities. Participation in these activities will depend on the clients baseline status and activity level pre and post-operatively. Our client’s safety is always the main priority.
Executive physicals – for clients who would like an executive physical tailored to your needs as their main treatment as part of our escorted trip, we are happy to arrange for this. The most basic physical is around 600.00 USD (costs may fluctuate with the local currency). More in-depth physicals can range from 750.00 to around 1,500.00 USD (for clients with a cardiac history who may need a cardiac catheterization/ coronary angiogram). These physicals include consultations with a variety of specialists depending on your needs and the package purchased. Additional diagnostics (endoscopy, colonoscopy, biopsies, MRI etc.) be performed based on the doctor’s recommendations but will require additional payment to the facility where the testing is performed. There is a 125.00 initial consultation fee, 10% service fee and a escorted tour fee of 500.00.
Independent – for our experienced, independent travelers who are fluent in the local language, medically stable/ ambulatory and fairly knowledgeable/ experienced travelers to the destination country, we offer ‘bare bones’ referral services at a very reasonable price. However, we do REQUIRE that these clients travel with a family member or friend.
Travelers pay for a medical screening and evaluation with one of our medical specialists (125.00) as well as a ten percent referral fee (10% of the total treatment price – with minimal referral fee of 500.00). We will assess your health needs, and make specialized recommendations, as well as appointments to see one of our network physicians. We will also assist in making hotel and airport transportation arrangements (hotel and transportation costs are paid by the client directly to the hotel/ transportation service).
Future levels of service
Our future levels of service will include a variety of packages tailored to our clients specific needs, language ability and familiarity and comfort level in the destination country.
This will include an exclusive executive option for our clients who desire personalized attention and their own trained and licensed health professional (NP, PA or MD) to accompany them to their destination, appointments and perform daily physical assessments/ dressing changes etc.
